This school was started on 05th of May 1945 to fulfill the need of a school to the village area, in small cadjan hut situated in a small plot of land belonged to catholic
Mission.The first prime minister of Sri Lanka Mr. D.S. Senanayake opened this school with three staff members. They were Mr. D. Muhandiramage, Mrs. Agnus Muhandiramge and Roslin Fernando. There were about 100 to 200 students that time.
As the number increases, the other buildings we have present were built in an adjoin land donated by Mr. Kingsley Croos.
