Vidyalankara Vidyalaya, the oldest Buddhist school in Negombo was establish by P.A.D.S. Jayathilaka esqr., under the Guidance of Venerable Nayaka Thera Silarathna of Bodirajaramadipathi, Negombo and under the leadership of Sir Olcott.
This was established in 1881 under the principal of Mr. Haljothi Janadoris and at the beginning there were only 6 students.
Now Vidyalankara Vidyalaya has 1044 number of students |
